Just got this back from Dennis Olson. Bruno 98 action that I got from my ole buddy Bill Soverns. #3 Shilen match grade barrel, and if I remember correctly its got a Dakota 3 pos safety (pretty bad when a fella can't remember if its a Dakota or Gentry..........Oh well, heck I'm 49, I don't have to remember everthing.......lol.

Dennis did a great job on the bolt handle, pic looks like its slanted, but its not, its straight. I taped the Dakota qtr rib on, just to get a feel for what its going to look like, it needs to be shorted quite a bit. In fact that qtr rib may be an overkill for a #3 taper, but the rib is contored for a #3.

I just have to get off my butt and figure out if I'm going to use one of my blanks or buy one, might use a nice pice of Black I have. But Dressels has a nice piece of English I like also. Soon as I figure it out will send it to Mike Kokolus and get it turned.

Soon as I get the stock done will send it back to Dennis and let him put the qtr rib, NECG sights, brl band swiv and blue it.

Jim,

My plan so far is to slick up the bottom metal thats on it. I think its Numrich/gunparts bottom metal............the release is in the bow.

BTW, I bought the same metal and a straddle floorplate from Jim Wisner for $50. It really improved the look of the bottom metal.

Forrest,

thanks for the thumbs up. Also............my office chair is not purple as Harry commented on, my shoes and chair are black......just came out purple in the pic.

how do you think the qtr rib will look once I take a 1/4" or so down, or do you think its an over kill on a #3 taper

Billy, I like open sights as low as possible on the barrel. I have two with low quarter ribs, both shoot and look well:

I'm so old, I remember when the nuns wouldn't let girls wear those shoes for fear we'd look up their dresses in the reflection!

Only a 1950s nun would think someone was that desperate, LOL.
