I'm looking for a pistol grip stock to fit an 1893 Dutch Mannlicher action. Have the action/barrel and bottom metal in 375-2.5" and want to put together a 1900 style english sporter. Would prefer to restore an older stock rather than age new wood, as such condition is not critical. Thanks.

Do you know who converted the action/metal to 375-2.5"? I have one from Williams Evans, and I believe another AR poster has one converted by H&H. Are there any stampings or markings?

Unfortunately I don't have any good suggestions on where to find a stock - I'm curious as to what you find out.

It's a Cogswell and Harrison, all the correct proofs. The current stock is straight gripped and has a long forend, about half the barrel length, don't know if it's original to the rifle or not but suspect not. In any case I'd like to get or make one that is more typical of the type/period. I have another in 303 by Alex Martin and enjoy both, just need to hang onto those ammo clips or they revert to single shots. Thanks for your intrest.

Military stocks may be available via Sarco Inc., or thru Gunparts, Inc. (Numrich), but all I have seen are straight stocks, no pistol grip.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll send the 303 stock and a chunk of wood to someone with a duplicater and get another made. Probably easier and faster in the long run.

For what it's worth, the stock on my William Evans looks to be the military stock (straight grip) that's been re-shaped a bit and shortened.

I think you're on the right track with having your Alex Martin stock duplicated.
