Just picked up a 12BVSS-S in .223 last evening. The Accutrigger wouldn't adjust to less than 2.5# I snipped two coil windings off to get it down to around 1.5# ( real sweet ) leaving enough to tighten 'er up to around 4#. Cycled the bolt a number of times to smooth matters out a bit, and dry-fired a half-dozen times. The sear is being blocked by the so-called "Accurelease" upon closing the bolt. It is on "safe" no matter what I do. The tang safety won't budge with the bolt in. Took it back to Gander Moutain this A.M. and they said it has to go to their shop in WI. for repairs ( it was a special order, so no swapping ) and I know that will take a month or so. Did I do something scatterbrained; is there an easy fix that I'm not seeing? Might an aftermarket trigger solve this problem? Don't really want to be without this for a month. Any input would be appreciated.

Got it working, in a fashion. Trigger pull is nice and light, but the safety won't engage. I see an aftermarket trigger in my near future. I have been visiting Savageshooters.com for a while and feelings are mixed about the Accutrigger.

Send it back to Savage, they will fix it. Of course it will cost you a new trigger assembly for messing with the trigger. Elite Archery and High Country dealer.
