Has anyone here ever done a carbonia bluing?
If so what type of wood did you burn for the charcoal?
What type of lime powder did you use?

I have done charcoal bluing with bone charcoal and used lime from the hardware store. About 850 degrees, careful when rubbing it down, pure cotton cloth and cotton gloves. A high polish on the metal gives a beautiful finish.

I have also done a bit of charcoal bluing of small parts. The parts have to be surgically clean, polished.

I used fine ground wood char made from lump charcoal mixed with bone char. It's what I had and use for CCH. Lime from Ace.

In my oven, 865 was the best temp after some playing around and I used burlap for the rub downs.
