Typical gun steel is 4130 and 4140 which are chrome moly.Those have been standard in the gun industry for many years .I assume it's a mistake in wording.
4130 and 4140 are carbon steels. The 30 and the 40 denote the carbon content. The 41 indicates they have also have significant amounts of chrome and molybdenum in them. So technically they are carbon steels but are usually referred to as chrome-moly because that differentiates them from standard carbon steels.

OK but Zustava are boasting their barrels are made of Vanadium (they spelt it Banadium) so what's that stuff like??
