Well folks, here's how it is. We wrote the check to Ruger to start the LA LH molds at the same time as we started the SA molds.
But we haven't cashed your checks or run your credit cards (LH Long program) because we said we wouldn't until we hit 100 units. We're hoping you guys will carry through and get us all the way home.
Because LH long is a mirror image of the RH, there's a good chance we'll see some metal in June.
I wasn't making AR the collective "you" but rather the custom market as a whole. And the fact of the matter is that we're known by less than 5% of the gunsmiths I've talked to in the last three weeks.
So we run a Gunlist ad campaign, and an FFL calling campaign and get the word out.
Tomjac: Kjell spoke, but he was waiting for his import paperwork before sending on the order to us.
However, you don't have to 'wait' for that if you want to place the order immediately. Give Dan a call or email him and send the credit card data over several separate emails. 406-755-4867 mtrifle@montanarifleman.com
Are we having fun yet???? Long RH continues to flow. Stainless arriving in equal numbers from the polisher next week. Another large lot of 4140 begins machining at the same time.

This is not fair! Stop dangling those carrots in front of our collective noses. Delivery, delivery is what counts here...
Great stuff, though!

Now Mikey... you could have had any one of those fine 4140 standard actions for your new 270win...but no...you HAD to have the dual dovetail pattern. And those don't begin to machine until April 7th.
I suspect that by the end of next week, we will have shelf stock on the 4140 Long action in magnum calibers.
The standard calibers must wait on a new updated magazine box which improves feeding from the left side. Our vendor is reworking some boxes to the new spec (much thanks Thos. Burgess!!!) and we're only a week or two away.

Yeah, yeah just rub it in April the 7th does not sound that far away, actually - even it is "only" the start date for machining. Light at the end of the tunnel! - mike

At the risk of sounding a little thick headed, and I am not saying I'm not thick-headed, I am a little confused over the reference from you and Mike about the dual dovetail pattern.
Are you referring to the PH action or am I missing something?
Best regards,

I believe that they are referring to the fact that the hole spacing on the newer runs of right handed long actions will now accomodate leupolds dual dovetail scope mounting system.

No, it is a 300 RUM (which are based on 404 if I'm not worng) shortned to 2.1". It is more and less a 450 SAUM or 450 WSM. Clymer are making my reamers now, and Kjell will do the rest on my Mini Safari rifle.
