Who can I send a stock to for some simple checkering? Nothing fancy, just a basic pattern for a bolt action stock. Who does this and how much can I expect to pay?

Call these places, or e-mail them for quotes. I have got quotes from both of them, but my work is much different than basic.

Or if you have the time, you could maybe do it yourself. Just order Dem-Bart's basic stock checkering tool kit. Preferably with Bill Mc Guire's Fundamentals of Gunstock Checkering booklet.
Practise on a bit of waste wood first, and even just a photo of a simple factory job will give you style and starting angles, ie the V shapes at the edges of basic designs.

The $50 pattern is a serious bargain and again.....very well done.
