How many standard magnum (300 Win, 338 Win mag) will a Sako L691 hold down? 4? "Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid" -- Ronald Reagan "Ignorance of The People gives strength to totalitarians." Yes sir should hold 4 down. I love these Sako rifles. Wish I would have purchased more when I was first getting started. My Sako AV .416RM is 4+1 "Let me start off with two words: Made in America"

I found a new, in the white L691 action on Gun Broker. I want to build a 358 Norma on a Sako action. However, the price is a little steep considering I can get a full rifle for less in pretty good shape and might even have a shot at reboring a 338 barrel versus a whole new barrel. But it sure is sweet looking. "Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid" -- Ronald Reagan "Ignorance of The People gives strength to totalitarians." Want to make just about anything work better? Jump on it. You will never regret it. Put on a good quality cut rifled barrel, and put the result in a Sako "Hunter" style stock from McMillan. Awesome.

I looked up the sale on Gunbroker. You are correct. For just a little more, you can get the whole 416 Remington Magnum rifle, and just make it a switch barrel set-up.
