I've used a lot of them. What do you need to know?

Doug, let me first ask if you have another stock like the one you sold me? It worked out perfect for me. About the Warsaw... I am looking for something that will work with both open and scoped sights, straight strong grain layout, slim forearm, functional checkering, etc. The pistol grip looks a bit fat and tight from the photos, is it? Basically, is it a good functional stock? I am kicking around putting together an inexpensive 35 Whelen or 9.3x62 on one of my 1909 Argentines. Thanks for your help.

Sorry Ed lost track of the post. Thats the only one of those stocks that I had. Glade that you like it. The Warsaw is ok although nothing to write home about. The ones I've worked with had proper grain layout & plenty of wood to work with. The grip is tight but it is bulky enough to open it up. It Should be ok for what you want. When you order it just specify that you expect proper grain flow, NO sap wood etc. or they will be getting the stock back. I miss read your post. I thought you were asking about the Fajen semi finishes stocks of several year back but I no see that you're probably refering to the stocks that Midway sells. This is not dense wood & is ok for the light calibers only IMHO. Boy if I could read I'd be dangerous! [ 12-28-2002, 21:40: Message edited by: Bear Claw ]
