A month ago, I heard that Timney was starting a run of triggers for 788's. I called and ordered two. The lady said they would be starting in "about a week". Has anyone else heard anything?

Here is a copy of an email that I got from Timney on 5-24-2002, regarding the 788 trigger.

quote:
We will be coming out with a trigger for the 788 hopefully by the end of the summer. Keep us in touch and we will update you as we go.

Need anything else let us know.

Since they didn't make it by last summer, maybe they will make it by the end of this summer. I got tired of waiting and found plans on the net to modify the factory trigger. I did the work on mine, and got the pull down to under 1 lb, and very crisp. I would still probably buy one if they ever come out with it.

I just called Timney last week and was told they should be ready bu the middle of October. I'm waiting to order 6. I was told that if I ordered 4 or more that I would get dealers cost. I'm waiting for the triggers to be finished so I can get my 6.

Nashcat, thanks for letting us know about the adjustable triggers that are being made. So where did you find the information to work on the trigger of the 788? Do you have a web site?

Thank you for your time.

Big Dog, I asked the lady about buying several as a dealer and getting them cheaper, etc, etc. She said I could but I'd have to file a ffl to show that I was a dealer and that they would be filling their individual orders before they filled their "bulk" orders. So I ordered two.

Smithey, I got the trigger info from a member on this site. I see that Dan has offered to send it to you. If you don't get it from Dan, sent me an email and I'll forward you a copy. I think it is from a published magazine article, so I'm reluctant to publish it on a web site.

Timney has its head up its collective ass when it comes to introducing new products.

I waited 6 MONTHS for a Howa 1500 trigger. Evey month I was told the same song and dance, "just a few more weeks".

I cancelled my order. Fuck 'em.

I have decided not to buy rifles that need trigger jobs anymore. The Howa was OK, but my Sako and CZ are awesome. From now on it's Tikka, Sako, and CZ for hunting rifles.
