Before i tear down an old custom rifle i was wondering if anyone ever heard of the maker. It has two initials that are hard to read then the last name lathrop the initials may be P or R for the first name and the middle may be W. Just wondering if anyone knew of this gunsmith.

thanks

Lathrop's Gunshop. Seattle area. I bought some guns from them in the early 60's.

did Mr. lathrop do gun smithing work. His name is stamped on a custom pre 64 winchester model 70, i think it is around a 1951 rifle.

thanks

I think he did. I was aquointed with his son, Jim through a mutual friend. It's been over 40 years and my memory is a little fuzzy on details.
