My local gunshop has a 30/06 which is made on a "Famage " 1952 m98 were these a good example of a mauser or not. My gun dealer states it's a small ring made in Belgium but he can't atest to it's quality.

Your dealer doesn't seem to be that well informed. Famarge was a European (Italian I think) company that post war refurbished and rebarrelled old Mausers usually to 30.06. The original makers details were usually ground off but can sometimes be found. The quality of these rifles is as a consequence extremely variable depending on when and where they were originally made as well as the condition they were in. The ones I have examined recently were large ring and while some were in good condition others had significant pitting. None of the numbers ever matched either and therefore you need to have the headspace checked. If the one that you're looking at is cheap and in good condition then you have a serviceable working gun but really unlikely to have the start of an expensive new project.

The make is F'Armage` which I believe is a Spanish refurbishment factory. Guns are large ring and can be made into a nive serviceable rifle with a little work.

Thanks !! always get the answers I want here, it seems alright and it is in a 30/06 looks like a poachers gun actually, bu there is a few rings in the bolt face looks as though a few hot loads have been fired in it.

Not for sure where it's remanufactured your Famage M98 , sure not in Spain , maybe it's from Colombia or Peru , and FAMAGE could mean Fa=Fabrica , Ma= Maestranzas , Ge=Generales or G=generales E=Ejercito check headspace and try to find any original stamping , could be made in Blegium or Germany . Regards
This one seemed a little rougher than the one in that thread. I have no knowledge of mausers really, I do know thanks to another person on this forum that Argentine 1909's are highly sought after.
