No, not at all. I just came across the information and linked to it.

Are you sensitive about something or is there more I should know.

From what I know Belk is capable of making his own reputation.

Take a chill pill Rebbeca (of Sunnybrook Farm). Very interesting website and narrative. It looks like his place is right under the flight path for light planes going from here to SLC.

Thanks for the link Savage99. It confirms that while Jack may have broken off communications with these forums that he frequented with his gunsmithing knowledge, at least his time, efforts, and knowledge are still being well applied.

I am glad to hear he is still keeping in touch. I sent him an email on the link from that site 3 months or so ago but never got an answer. I do wish him the best and hope he is doing well and enjoying himself. Pass that on if you have the chance. I appreciate it.

I started to post something a couple of days ago when I saw this thread, but stopped. I had very mixed feelings when I read the thread. I can relate to Jack's desire to be free of the "neighborhood", but I sure hate that he has taken it so far. He is solely responsible for the Mausers in my safe, solely responsible for igniting a desire to learn more about our sport/hobby/career (chose whatever fits). I don't agree with everything Jack did or said, but NO ONE here gave as freely with his knowledge or opinions. I have shamelessly used the OEJ as a model for my own '09 Argentine. Jack sent me files and files on stoning/shaping, always answered my questions, and had the ability to make me question my own likes and dislikes as it relates to firearms. Matter of fact, he is STILL helping us on a regular basis. Think not? Go to his hotater site and check out all the photos he has posted (and left posted) of gunsmithing projects. OK, OK, I'll shut up, but first, PLEASE Augustis, tell Jack to get to work on that gunsmithing book.....sounds like he has plenty of peace and quiet to work on it. And I'd like the first copy.

Ah man, you had to do that! He is a very talented gunsmith and metalworker, that I don't think anyone will dispute.

I don't know the paticulars of the affair but apparently a few years back there were several very unhappy customers. It seems more often than not, talented gunsmiths don't have great business skills, and make some very bad decisions and get themselves in corners. I believe there were some other strange happenings.

I hate to even broach the subject as there was a massive shit storm that raged across several hunting/gunsmithing forums.

I hope this thread does not rekindle that fire. I tried to be as vaque as possible about the event as I had no clue to the details, and when that many words get spread over so many forums, no one gets the whole picture.

Jack Belk was very kind and helpful and sent me a wealth of information from several sources when he was on these boards. I am grateful to him for his very kind help and I wish him very well. Thanks to Savage 99 for this post.
