Don MarkeyWho's 1917 c-o-o work is this
Any idea's who's work this is. It is a sleeve that is attached to the bolt shroud that extends the cocking cam so you maintain full firing pin travel.

Don MarkeyThing is the rest of the rifle doesn't seem to have the same workmanship so I figured this was a purchased part.

DougH9I don't know but I need one for a rifle I have that gives light strikes (converted to cock-on-open).

LesBrooksDon,
I thought I had seen most of these conversions, but this is a new one for me. I usually welded up the cam in the bolt and recut for the cock on opening. Is this a new machined shroud with a longer threaded section?
Could you place this shroud next to a standard enfield rear shroud and photo for a better view?

I leave them cock on closing as that is actually a better system and was designed that way for a reason.
I agree 100%. I can't understand this "fetish" for cock on opening.
I prefer a rifle where ALL the camming action on opening is used on the extraction of the fired case.

Les,
I'll get so more pics later, but here is one I had on the computer already. It loks as there was just a groove cut in the factory shroud. Also looks as the original cocking piece was used too.
