Does anyone besides Ruger chamber the 257 Roberts in a new rifle? I like accurate rifles with adjustable triggers so that rules out the Ruger.Has anyone ever built a 25/.284 on a Win 70 short controlled feed action?

I have a rem. mt. rifle in 257 nice gun. They still list a model or two in this cal. Put a after market trigger on the ruger. Timmy makes a nice one. Now most of the time with any factory rifle putting a after market trigger on is almost always a smart thing to do.

p dog shooter, How do you find the Rem Mountain Rifle 257 for mag length. The only 257 Roberts Mountain Rifle I ever saw was a short action , but the Remington Classic in 257 was a long action. I once briefly owned a 722 in 257 Roberts, although I never fired it I could see that seating a 100 or 120 near the lands would be impossible without having a single shot.I had another 722 in 244(6mm) and it was too short for 100 gr bullets and being the same case, the 257 was even worse.I think the short Model 70 would be ideal for this cartridge.
