Greetings:

Will scope mounts designed for the remington 700 short actions fit the remington 660 with that protuding recoil lug and single screw up front?

TIA

Sometimes. It depends on how long the mount is. Weaver one piece are a special mount (with a spacer for the front portion), Redfield are the same I believe (I'm operating on memory here). FWIW - Dan

My 600 has two screws in front and one in the rear.

I've not seen a 660 in person but if your rifle has one screw in the rear vs one in the front you can probably use the Leupold dual dovetail base for an XP-100. On my 600, there is a visible distance between the recoil lug and the base.

rogerq, 1 piece bases made by redfield and weaver will fit a 660 and /or a 700sa, also xp100 600 this info is from a 1992 chart. There is no listing for 2 piece bases for a 660. 243winxb

S&K makes the only two piece mounts that I know of for the 600/660. They are similar to a Conetrol, but set up easier. They look pretty slick and cost about $100
