Hi--I have been offered a Sako varmint rifle
It is chambered for the 222 mag which is fine but brass cases is imposable to get in Canada--is rechambering to 222 rem or 223 a possible-I presume the barrel would have to be set back
Any infor would be helpful
Thanks Sydney

Bummer, the 222 mag is a great caliber as well and a Sako in that caliber is rare here in the States (if its an L469 or Vixen).

That said, yes, it can be done just as you mention. Had a Mauser done like that a while ago, 222 mag set back and rechambered to 223.

Would be a pity... I think importing 200 cases would be cheaper than a rechambering job.

Just looked it up, looks common to turn 204 into 222 Mag. Go slow and lube well
