At the show today I saw a Model 30 express, looked to be in very good original shape, guy only wanted 395 for it. It had a rear peep/aperture sight with windage and elevation adjustment. But I couldn't make out the markings on it. Looked original

what sight would this have been, if it is original?

Was 395 a good deal for it?

I'd have walked out of there with the 30 Express AND the mauser.

I'm sure some will say otherwise but, hey, diff'rent strokes.

Probably was a Lyman 48 and $395 probably was a very good price.

If I had the money I would have bought them both. I wondered if it were a Lyman 48 and were worth getting at that price. BUT then gotta think about the cost of converting it to something I want. don't need another 06. damn I wish I had more money.

Mauser? Both? Am I missing something? All I see is a question about one rifle!

The asking price on the last one that I saw (and I have seen very few ) at a local show was $700. I'd say $395 was a very good price.

30L Express' came with Lyman and the 30R came with Redfield receiver sights. If it had any kind of condition it was a great price. Mines a .35 Rem, been looking for a 30.06.
