What bases for an old Sauer-Weatherby rifle?

A friend has one of these rifles and wants me to find a set of bases for it since his local dealer quoted in the vicinity of one thousand dollards to get a new set of claw mounts made for the existing bases.

The reciever has screws where bases would normally screw in, but the rear claw mount covers the rear of the reciever and appears that it may be welded in place beause there are no obvious screws holding it in place, but it would seem logical that the rear of the recieved should be tapped as well.

Does anyone know if the profile on these Sauer-Weatherbys is the same as a modern day Weatherby?

Thanks.

Before making any decisions on the asumption that the rear bridge wass drilled/tapped for a scope base, you might try using a dental mirror to see if it WAS tapped.

If the mentioned clawmount is a counterclav model, where the lock is in the front and you tilt the scope backwards to take it of. Then the screws might be hidden under the latchet in clawpart on the rearbase.
The clawplate might be slided in from the side.
