grizzinater416 taylor bedded?
i hope i havent already asked this ? but anyday now i will be getting my 416 taylor back which was a ruger rebore and it will go in the ruger synthetic paddle stock. will this hold up or will it need a second recoil lug or what, i really like the paddle stocks and they seem tougher than nails. thought i would ask the experts..thanks

jeffeossoi wouldn't bother with a second lug on a 416 (except a weatherby)
bedding COULD help consistency
your call, but shoot it as is first

p dog shooterWhen I got my ruger 416 taylor back new style syt stock with a new douglas 25 in barrel it weight round around 8.5 with scope.
After the the frist two shots I bedded it while I did that I added a half pound of shot to bring the weight up. Then added a thicker recoil pad. It nows weighs right at 10 lbs loaded scope and slinged. I would n't want it any lighter.
I bed most of my rifles and I would bed that one also. I would add a fter market recoil pad those old paddle stocks do not have much of a pad. I put one on my 338 paddle stock it works well. I found no need to put one on my 3006 paddle stoc the factory one works fine on that.
Please let my know what it weighs when you get it back.
