I am trying to reassemble the action bars to the action bar sleeve and there must be a trick to the proceedure because I can't make it happen. It is just suppose to snap back together, but how. Do you need a vice or special tools?? Help.

Did you depress the feed tube block?

Yes Jim. I removed the action bar assembly from the shotgun. Then I separated the action bar sleeve from the action bar. I replaced a broken forearm support and then incountered the problem in reattaching the action bar to the action bar sleeve.

you have to start one tang on the sleeve and then press the other side on. This is how I've done them. a padded vice works well.

That's your answer.
I have owned Rem 1100's since they first came out in 1963 or there abouts, and can take them apart and put them back together blind folded.

Place the action bar sleeve assembly on the work bench, flat side up, slip one leg of the action bar in it's slot and with a mallet, give the other side a whack. It should snap right in.

Jim, what the hell is a "feed tube block"? I've heard it called a feed latch, shell stop and cartridge stop, but never a feed tube block. Big Grin

It's what you use to cut nutrition off, especially useful for heavier guns. Wink

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.
