Good day! New member here, looking for some info on CZ 527 & ZKW 465 receivers. I'm trying to find the exact diameter (side-to-side) of the receiver ring of each. I'd also like to confirm if the ZKW uses the same barrel threads as the CZ 527. Between me and a mate (who asked for me, on sites that wouldn't let me sign up), we've asked this on several different forums over the last two weeks. Over 500 views, exactly ONE actual answer, that the CZ measured 1.225". I'm confident that's right, but if someone wants to confirm, that would be great. No info on ZKW, either diameter or threads.

I'll save some time: Yes, I tried the CZ forum first. Least helpful of all the sites. Over 130 views, ZERO responses. Not even "welcome to the forum." Lots of great info by past members, though not this info. It's obviously going to be a read-only resource for me (although I did manage to pick up a pair of CZ SST's at a great price). Also, several people have suggested that they're the same diameter because the receivers are identical. They're not. You can see that just looking at a picture. They're different lengths, and made by two different processes, so I can't assume any dimensions. Finally, no, I can't just get my hands on one to measure it. (If I could, we wouldn't be having this conversation!) I don't have access to one yet, but I need to keep pushing on with my project.

So there it is. Anyone with a CZ 527 or especially, a ZKW 465, and a set of calipers? I'd really appreciate the help.

Welcome to the forum. I have neither of the rifles you mention; too small.
If you are going to barrel one or the other, do not cut threads until you have the receiver. I am sure you know that.

Absolutely. Use the receiver as a try gauge. tu2

Thanks! That's what my friend told me when he recommended I sign up. From what I've read so far, I'm believing it.

Yes, keep posting. Right now we are at a dull point in gunsmithing topics. I am anyway.

Welcome.
I’m not a gunsmith but my CZ 527 in 223 measures 1.23 side to side above the recoil lug.
Don’t have the other.

Thanks Larry, that confirms the only other response at 1.225", so I'm confident to go ahead with that. Hopefully I can get the ear of a ZKW owner before too long.
