In three different actions; a M70, M700 & a Mauser 98 I can only get four down. I guess your experiences are the same? No I am not interested in drop magazines. Can't afford them.

my pre-64 will hold five, but the top round is balky to feed with a full magazine. Taking a touch off the follower would probably be all it would take though

Mine measures about .890" at the rear, the front however is more important.

I get 5 down easy in a 1908 Brazilian and it feeds fine.
