I am asking for a little help. What is the distance between the ears of the rear sight on a 1917 or P14.

I am thinking buying a 1917/P14 and mounting a Burris fastfire for my poor eyes, in this position.

The measurements on a Fastfire are about 5/8", center to center on the mounting holes, and it is about 1-1/8" at its max width. These are not exact, but just a ruler at Gander Mountain.

I know that it has other options, but I think if it fits it would be a natural between the ears.

My Remington M17 measures what seems to be an honest one inch inside to inside of the ears.
