Can somebody tell me about this action ,is it still made ? is it a true long magnum action ? is it a exact copy of a 98 action or does it have mods ?do you know how much one costs ? and how well made and finished are they ? and do they suit a 505 gibbs ? thanks

Pretty close facsimile of the Oberndorf "double square bridge" magnum #20, modern steel, adjustable trigger, each action tailored to specific cartridges (416-505), milled steel, need final polishing, made in RSA but I hear they are moving, etc. about $2500, contact Butch Searcy, http://www.searcyent.com.

I asked about them when I was in RSA about a month ago and was told they are no longer in business.

Isn't Vektor a large RSA military contrator?

What I heard was that the Vektor magnum mauser actions will be made available to anyone willing to purchase a minimum number (like 500 pieces).

I have searched the net many times but cannot find anything on them ,i have also tried to find out about granite mountain actions without much success either .i saw a 505 gibbs in a '' sports afield'' built by gibbs ,i dont know if its a golmatic action ,it has a square rear bridge with original mauser shroud and safety, which is what i want to build.I saw another 505 in a english magazine with square rear bridge and a model 70 type safety which i think was a reimer johannson ,i think the original mauser is the best, imo

Why don't you call Searcy? He uses the Vektor on his bolt rifles, should know the skinny.
