OK I suffer from CRS (can't remember shit). Which Mark is Mark and which Wells is Wells?

One Mark (Penrod vs Stratton) works with D'arcy Echols. Frank or Fred Wells, which is which?

There are two types of people in the world: those that get things done and those who make excuses. There are no others.

The late Fred Wells was the gunsmith long located in Prescott, Arizona, who did such things as machined Magnum Mauser actions from bar stock, built dangerous game rifles, fathered the .510 Wells (essentially a necked up .460 WBY) and was long married to Rachel Wells, who is currently known as a good quality engraver (primarily of guns).

Fred also had a fairly large collection of Mauser sporters by various European builders, of varied quality.

Frank Wells of Tucson, AZ, specializes more in wood work, and has also commercially built a lot of custom sporters of good quality.

My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

I visited with Fred and Rachel Wells about a year priot to his death. Fred was a true gentleman. He didn't know me from Adam, but Fred gave me a complete tour of his shop, his works in progress and the Mauser Collection. He told me that his son was the Mauser collector, and that the collection was complete to the extent that Mauser had sent people to his shop to see the collection and gather information on some of the pieces.
