December 2008 has been good to me

I will expand a bit on the title. First off I bought a Pre 64 Win Fwt model 70 stock separate from the P.O. Ackley made 25-06 barrel that it was offered togehter as a matched set for a really good price; less than half of what was asked. As the deal closed the fellow said heck I will never use or sell that barrel, give me $10.00 and you can have it. Well my good friend just shortened the barrel up and installed it on my BYF 43 98k action as a 257 Roberts Ack Imp. He borescoped it before cutting off and informed me that it wasn't shot very much at all as the 25-06 throat wasn't even burnt.
We went together on a pre 64 prewar action that had an altered bolt but no extra holes. I needed the bolt and my friend needed the undrilled receiver. We bid high to win and won. The seller was so thrilled with the sale price that he shipped for free, threw in the barrel and at the last minute threw in the stock. My friend had covered the bill and I was to trade my bolt and what parts I wanted and we would settle up. When it came time to settle up my friend wanted to send me shipping. I said heck I owe my share and will split the shipping. My friend said just ship it down and don't worry about it. It is going to end up that we both got our guns the way we want them and have more than a complete m70 leftover to sell and get most of our money back anyway. What a December. Good deals and good friends!
