I've got a Rem 700 that started out life as an ADL, but which has been converted to a BDL, and rebarreled in 6*47. I'm now finding that I need to have more length available in the magazine than is currently available. From a look at the bits involved, it would seem that I need to move (or remove) the spacer at the back of the magazine well, and to somehow lengthen the follower, so that it will sit snugly against the rear of the well. I tried feeding a couple of dummy (6*47) rounds through a Rem 22/250, and it wasn't successful. I gather from that that the follower is not only longer, but a different shape, so the idea of shortening a 243 follower that I have would appear stillborn. Has anyone done this, and how did you go about it. | ||
