How do you remove the front sight on a Mauser 98?

I know how to get the rear sight off - heat it up to melt the solder and drive it off with hammer and punch. Same for front?

The front sight has a locator screw/pin the same as the rear.



It is located under the barleycorn/blabe sight insert.



Drift out the sight blade and you will see the head of the screw. Remove the screw and heat the band to melt the solder, then drive off the sight band.
