Did you guys ever get a website up and running for your stocks? I'd love to see the different Maple types. Can you duplicate any commercial (one piece) stock? Thanks, Lee [ 10-07-2002, 20:48: Message edited by: LongDistanceOperator ]

We have lots of wood and Mike has carved a few stocks but he is involved in a couple of other business ventures that are consuming most of his time. Plus he is curently in Southern California at the bed of a very ill relative. And he is recuping from shoulder surgery and has limited right arm capabilites, so running the duplicator is out of the question. He is going nuts, can't shoot his 416!!! I have some photos on the drive and will send to you later tonight. About the quickest way to obtain a stock is to buy the wood from Mike and have someone duplicate it for you. I am guessing he has 100 plus cured blanks. Plus several tons of logs on the deck ready for the sawmill. His duplicator is "idle" at the moment, he just has too many other irons in the fire! I may be helping him saw the logs when he returns from CA. Some are huge, 5 ft at the butt. I will have a duplicator in my shop in early 2003 but most of the carving time will be for the rifles I build. Might be able to squeeze in a few stock jobs after I get the machine up and running. We can duplicate from an existing stock but the stylus will damage the finish, and the pad has to come off.

Lee - I know a retired fellow down here in Houston who has a duplicator and does fine work, very reasonable, quick turnaround, can dup your pattern or his (he has lots to choose from).
