I was wondering if a MAPP gas cylinder would put out enough heat to use for case hardening small parts with Kasenit in a crucible.

I have use of an Oxy/Acetyline rig, but the MAPP cylinder would be more convenient.

It depends on the size of the parts. I use oxy/acet, air/acet and propane torches for different size parts. If you can get the parts to cherry red then your torch is adequate.

You might check out a ferriers set up.
