I ordered one for my pre-64 Featherweight (.30-06). Went to the gunsmith to see it tonite. First impressions are favorable. My smith said it fits pretty well as is. The exception is the rear of the triggerguard which sticks up above the stock some. The stock will be inletted for a flush fit and the stock glass bedded when its all done. This will be my primary hunting rifle up here in the Adirondack Mts. With a set of Talley LW rings it weighs exactly 6lb 5oz. LOP 14 1/8. I will probably top it with a 2.5x8 Leupy. 7lbs or so unloaded. I'm looking forward to hunting season even more now.
Mcmillan makes the best synthetic stocks...and on a synthetic it is far better to start with the metal sitting too high rather than too low. It’s far easier to lower the metal down into the stock than it is to match the gel coat finish if you have to take the stock down to the metal.

nyrifleman, Make sure to post some pictures when you get your rifle. I have McMillan Winchester Compact on order (regular weight stock in the Hunder Edge mold). Can't wait to get it! Wouldn't mind seeing how it looks on an actual rifle instead of just their website.
