When trying to scope a Steyr CLII Mountain rifle, even with small occular bell scopes like Leupold and Swaro Z3, medium height scope rings are required as a minimum to clear the bolt handle, due to the dog leg in the pseudo butter knife design. It is a real pity as the rifle handles fantastically and is screaming for a low mounted low powered scope. The search function here provided several threads referring to this "issue". Given the cost of these rifles here I am not about to take a Dremel to the bolt handle, but would consider having a second bolt handle altered, or would swap it out with a slightly different design if some of the other Steyr designs would fit and still function. Has anyone done this and if so where did you source the replacement part? Being in South Africa importing will be a bit of a process most likely, but having a starting point to source the appropriate item would be a great help. At this point I intend to get in touch with: https://www.winchesteraustrali.../products/2600041001 and https://www.nordicmarksman.com...dle-Scout-Sport.html - it is out of stock hre but this design looks promising. Thanks.

Looks like a Steyr Scout II bolt handle would give clearance according to the pic on the website. It appears to be the same bolt with a turned down knob. I would suggest contacting Steyr and see if they could sell you a bolt/handle or if you could send your rifle in and have one fitted. Sending the rifle in for "service/repair" might ease local importation difficulties. https://www.steyr-arms.com/en/ Service Dept: https://www.steyr-arms.com/en/contact/
