Bottom metal for 416 Taylor
I am starting a 416 taylor project. I am using a Interarms mark x action. I would like to get some nice bottom metal for it. I am wanting to put 4 or 5 down. Who makes such a thing? I know Blackburn has some, they said I needed the #9 30-06 length. Will this take 4 down? What are your thoughts?

The Blackburn Model 17 is for standard magnums (7 mag to 458 mag) and will hold 4 down. The 17X is the drop magazine version and will hold 5 down.

(The #9 is for 30/06 sized rounds).

yep.. a 17 will hold the 4, and doesn't require a new stock to look right..

a 17x will stick out from under a normal stock, and requires a new stock

That is what I was thinking. Why would they tell me I needed the #9 then? It is a shame when you get more accurate info on a forums sight than from the company's own customer service email.

Who else makes it?
