I have a mark 10 mauser with a hard bolt lift. any suggestions as to lighten and slick it up would be appreciated.

Usually due to rough cocking cam and sear nose, and sear sides; so polish those, and polish your firing pin safety lugs and make sure they aren't binding inside the bolt. The two lugs 1.25 inches behind the firing pin tip; those are the safety lugs.
Bolt lug seats can be rough too; very light lapping or polishing will help VERY light. Bolt bodies being polished help.
Soft steel surfaces, and generous sear to cocking piece tolerances tend to gall but the MK10s should be ok in that regard.
It all adds up. But the cocking cam is the most of it. Lube.
