Anyone know how or what can be done to "brighten" the blued blade on the Blackhawk front sight? Maybe it's just me, but at times the blued color blends in a little too much with the target and the rear sights. I've seen Redhawks with removeable/replaceable inserts for the front blade and really like the sight picture. I have discounted "painting" the rear of the blade because all known coatings would probably dissolve when cleaning the gun. If any reader of this post knows of any permanent-type coating for the rear of the blade or any aftermarket front sights that can be used as replacements/modifications, please let me know. The revolver is a New-Model Blackhawk in .45 Colt and is a shooter. Success is 99% determination.

How about a little dab of white model paint? Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

My Father-in-law painted his white about 35 years ago. He's dead now, but the paint is still on that front sight. It was some paint he got from Herters for painting fishing jig heads. Painted right over the bluing. Just cleaned it with solvent first. That gun was in and out of a holster a lot too.
