Hi Power Slide Stop
I sent a NIB FN Hi Power with the enamel finish to a well known entity to have a trigger job. the pistol came into the US in the early 2000s via FN, not Browning, and is marked as such. It was part of an overrun from a military contract.

The well known entity lost my slide stop, and replaced it with a very worn parkerized replacement that sticks out on my enamel finish pistol.

I am searching for a new or like new correct slide stop. All places I've tried are out of stock. Can anyone point me towards what I am looking for?

One would think, but the entity, one of the big ones known for Hi Power work feels I should be happy with the one they sent, or one they will try to Ceracote to match.

Bummer.

Since they changed out a part that was in good condition, properly functioning and not part of the work requested, I feel like they goofed up and should be making it right.

Their answer is a load of crap.

Quit beating around the bush and mincing words, WHO did you send the pistol to that lost your parts?

Be unrelenting and hound them about it letting them know
#1 What they did and how dissatisfied you are and just as important
#2 Exactly what they need to do to make it right.

If you follow those 2 steps you are nearly assured satisfaction from 90% of the goof ups you will deal with.

Thank you Snellstrom for posting your response! Every time I read one of these "I don't want to mention their name, but...." it reminds me of junior high school gossip. I am sure that we all work hard for our money and if we are going to spend it on something like you did with your Hi Power, it would be nice to know who is trustworthy to send a gun, or anything else for that matter, to.

I will post the name if they don't make it right.

Right now I'm simply trying to locate a slide stop.

It was Cylinder & Slide that did the work on my Hi Power. their attitude about this situation is terrible. Apparently my slide stop went out on some else's pistol, and they refuse to make any calls trying to find it, and they can not replace my part with a new one as there are none available.

In the end, I paid them $463.30 for a basic trigger job and return shipping. This is just about double their advertised price, however, they charge extra to actually polish parts. Their listed price is to swap springs and replace the sear with their own part. Polishing is an extra $105.00.

There are also some nicks in the finish that it did not have when it was sent off to them.

I have heard similar things from another C&S customer. Sorry that you had trouble with them.

CJ I am sorry to hear about your problems, if it were me I would do the following and be very firm with them.

Thank you for the advice. I am now forced to deal with them by email only as they will not take my calls. I've been very polite with them, so no reason for them to behave like this.

I was told that Bill would call me, but that did not happen.
