Beore you guys start, I know, I know, it's not worth it, but I can do most of the work myself. I have a smallring mexican mauser I've shortened to just take a 250 Sav at 2.6". I've slimmed and trimmed everything I can. I cut an 1/8 out of the back of the trigger guard and squeezed it down, welded and contoured it. That just takes a reg. replacement trigger that way and looks good. What I'd like to do is mill a 1/4" - 3/8" off the top of the mag box to give the finished rifle a slimmer look. Has anyone cut and welded an adjustable trigger? I thought perhaps a Dayton Traister would be the easiest as they are so simple. Any thoughts?

I once broke a Timney Sportsman trigger while taking an action out of the stock a bit too "forcefully". I made a new trigger piece out of a military trigger by cutting the top off, reshaping, and drilling the hole for the assembly pin. I then fit this replacement part back into the Timney assembly. The same method could be used to make the trigger shorter. I know my description is lacking, but there's just one pin holding the trigger (not the whole unit) in place, if you pull it you'll be able to see where you can cut things a little shorter. Good luck!

That sounds like a pretty neat project. Post a picture if you can.
