I believe that mauser was shortened by Butch Searcy. You can plainly see that he use Len Brownell type ejector modification.

Not a bad price considering what it would cost to duplicate it, but depending on what condition the barrel is in.

That is a very nice rifle and in a caliber that works perfect for our little black-tailed deer here.

Who make bolt handles like that one? That is exactly what I am looking for.

The barrel looksl ike a Krieger #2 or a Lothar #5130.

Looked like a lot of rifle for the money to me, just figured there must be something wrong with it if no one here has snatched it up yet. The metal work is worth the buy it now price.

It's a steal at $3500. To have that rifle made to day would run $6500 to $7000. Hell $3500 barely covers the metalwork.

This isn't the first runthrough for this gun. He hasn't had any takers and I am surprised. I sent the seller an email and he confirmed it is cut and welded. That must be the turnoff for buyers. It sure is pretty.

What Smith's out there will take on the job of shortening Mauser actions and bolts? Mr. Searcy said he doesn't have time for Gunsmithing anymore. Thanks for any info.

Open rear sight far too close to the eye, should be several inches more down the barrel.

Dennis Olson is also an excellent metalsmith.

I've never asked him if he shortens actions?

Check my post above and give him a call!
