Guys

With the model 1950 Mannlicher Schoenauer rifles, is the overall thickness/width of the stock in the magazine area the same for all the available calibres? Or, put another way, is a M1950 in 6.5x54 a slimmer rifle than one in 9.3x62?

Cheers.

The receiver was the same for all model 1950's. The half stock intended for the US (black forend tips) usually are much thicker around the receiver. The European rifles have much trimmer stocks. The full stock rifles are the same, although a 6.5x54 will have a short barrel, while a full stock 9.3 will have a long barrel.

I had two 1950's in the shop several months ago. One in 6.5mm and one in 30-06. They were nearly identical except for wood coloring
