We got a push feed M70 Ranger short action in with the extractor missing and part of its guideway broken off. Customer said he was shooting factory ammo and had a case head failure. Looks like it blew the extractor outwards and when he drew the bolt back it caught on the receiver ring and snapped off part of the guideway. Shop has a no-weld policy on bolt heads. I'm not keen on it either. Can't find any bolts anywhere. Any of you all have any leads?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

I see them on the big auction site sometimes.
Why not just mill off the guide? The first post 64 bolts so not have them anyway.

This is the inverted T - shaped guideway the extractor travels in. Part of one side is broken off and won't retain the extractor. It's one of those style extractors you see on Savage, Marlin, Rem 783, etc. Flat blade that slides laterally and tensioned by a plunger and spring.

MidwestGunWorks.com has pushfeed & push/controlled feed bolts for $290ish.

OR

Fit a PT&G SALVAGE head to that Winny bolt body.

Keep'em in the X ring,

There is one on e bay now for $63.
For 290, just get a new rifle.
I didn't read it right; extractor slot; sure.
