I am being adventurous and all set to try and fit rear claws to a base .The claw tabs are already fitted to the two open cavities all I have to do is shape the claws. The sliding lock which will hold the claws is also in place . My question is : where do I begin ? A-Do I remove the spring which tensions the locking plate ? This would make fitting of the claws to the easier I would think . B-Do I use engineering blue or some sort of smoke lamp ? C-Do I use files alone or make small metal saw cuts to begin ? D _I don't have a milling machine. Do I need one? E _ How do I mark the area to remove metal in the claws so that it mates neatly with the sliding plate ? Any advice would be welcome .I am in Tasmania and almost certainly I know as much as the states gunsmiths with this job. Thanks in anticipation . | ||
