Don't understand why it would be so difficult to find one of these, but I've searched high and low and can't come up with one. Need one for restoration of Remington-Rand. Anyone have one they'd part with? Thanks.

You might try Cylinder and Slide or Kahr arms as they took over Auto Ordnance. The AO 45 was pretty much as straight a GI 1911A1 as you can get. Springfield Armory also made one that duplicated the WWII vintage 1911A1. Also Colt made a run of "new" WWII 1911A1's, and might have some parts left over.
