I want to attach a sling to my RWS 52 air rifle. I need a stud post that will replace the screw up front that holds the action to the stock. I guess this would be a metric size as RWS are German made. I have not located a source for this and was wondering if anyone would be willing to take on this project? If so please PM me. Thanks.

I was actually looking at my 48 to see exactly what he wants done.
I want to know how you plan to tighten up the screw and what if it doesn't index properly??

Thanks for the plug Jason.

Kerry has done work for me and the price was very fair and the quality was outstanding.

Kerry is an expert machinist, he loves guns, and he loves to do the difficult little jobs. A real triple threat!

When I first read the question of how to tighten I thought where could the confusion possibly be? There is going to be a hole through the post and a nail or most anything could be inserted and used to tighten it. Then it hit me, if it is tightened and then the hole drilled would index it properly. So I guess making a screwdriver slot on top would be the answer if doing it that way. If hole is drilled first and it doesn't index, perhaps a thick leather washer to take up the slack and it could be tightened against it?

Or you could just drill a hole in your stock and use a $15 part instead of trying to get a $50 custom screw made.

I have a standard stud on the front of my RWS 48 works fine

I would actually suggest this. The only issue I have ever had with air rifles is their screws working loose. Also, another thumbs up for kcstott...a great guy to work with.

I'm not suggesting a $15 part out of being cheep. I'm suggesting out of practicality and application.

If I were to make such a part as to utilize the same hole I would drill and tap a hole in the head of the screw or a custom screw so the screw can be tightened and the sling mount can be mounted and indexed properly.

I ended up making it myself with the crude means I have available. Drill press, hacksaw, file and bench grinder.
