Hello everyone. I was just wandering if anybody out there has had a Ruger GP100 converted to another caliber. I was thinking something along the lines of .45 acp or .41 magnum/special. I'm not sure if the gun is big enough for a six shooter in a lager caliber. Any thoughts?

I have seen these conversions before, but they are pricey (approaching $900).

I looked into it myself.

You are much better off purchasing a Taurus revovler in one of those calibers, and then spending $200 to $300 in having a gunsmith slick it up for you. You'll be left with a very servicable sidearm.

Dave Clements does a 6 shot conversion to 41 special at a reasonable price.

He also does a 5 shot conversion to 41 mag for a considerable chunk of change. I want one in the worst way.

It makes sense on the GP100 because it's really too big for a 357 but perfect for a 5-shot 41.
