What kind of rifle, rings and bases? There may be a mismatch of the rings or the wrong bases.

Also the windage may be jammed near it's limits. Sometimes this will prevent the elevation from making it's full travel.

Did you start with a new set of rings and bases? They may be mismatched.

Is your rifle's barrel close to the wood at the fore-end? There may be a lot of upward pressure on the barrel.

Is your scope tube bent? Self-explanatory.

Turn the bases around (if you are using two-piece bases).

Rado3003,

You may need to shim the front ring to lower your groups. I use shims made from Dr Pepper cans. Try 2 or 3 in the bottom of the front ring. Hope this helps!

I am shooting a 7mm rem mag with a pentax lightseeker scope. At 25 yards im an inch high, but when im shooting at 100 im about 13 inches high and i cant' get the crosshairs to come down anymore. I have had the rings lapped and i checked all the screws but still can't get it anywhere close at 100. Is there anything i can do?
Thanks,
Nick Radovich
