Has anyone used Coppermelt to clean the barrels of your firearms. Does it have any harmful effect that you know of (to the firearm or the person)? I do know that it does not have any type of bore protectant (oil) in it. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thank you

I was just using it yesterday. It cleans copper fouling very well, has a lot of ammonia in it. I don't know about the safety of it, I just use it and then clean and oil the bore with Kroil. So far no problems, but if I had to pick one (and I hate to say it , because Coppermelt is the home team), I would just use Wipeout. - Dan

I've been using Coppermelt for several months now and it works just like the claims say it works. Just follow the directions....I run a Kroil patch through afterward, then 1 dry patch. I still like Wipeout the best, though.
