Some gun plumbing

A friend of mine brought use Weatherby XXII 22 semi-auto. He had it for 5 years or so.

He hadn't shot it much. So he decided that he should start using it.

He called me up and said the trigger would remain in the reward position once in awhile.

He asked me to look at it.

After his girl friend dropped it off I took it out back and rapped a mag off.

No sticking then I pulled back on it a little harder it would stick.

After a few more mag's full I pulled it out of the stock and couldn't duplicate the problem.

I looked at the trigger guard and the trigger and both had a shining spot on them.

Closer inspection of the trigger revealed a burr. Some carful filing took care of it.

Several more mag's full all is fine.

Of course I had to use all of the ammo he sent with the gun for testing purposes.

Just another day in the life of a gun plumber.

No need for the pipe wrench today.
