I looked at the web sight with no mention of your book. I have a few questions.
1- how many pages?
2- how many photos?
3- size of book?

I'd be interested in a signed copy also. This would be an international sale, any other ways of paying you except by check?

The US Post office has International Money Order agreement with a large number of European Nations. I do not know who all is on the list but they can be cashed at a local post office. I have cashed them from the UK. Might work.

My copy arrived today.

I haven't begun to read all the text as yet, but there's around 75 pictures of early custom Springfields, so that's some nice "eye-candy".

Smiler

Thanks Michael

Please excuse my ignorance but was August Pachmayr post 1940 or are the makers in your book just the ones born in the USA?

August Pachmayr was working in the California circa 1910 after his move to the US from Germany. I have not written an article on August for the simple reason I have not personally examined his work. There are more makers that I will write about in the future and I’m sure at some time I will cover him. After this book idea became a reality last fall I have published at least two other articles with information on other makers.

Many of the makers in the book were born and trained overseas.

Custom rifles are like any other art form, what is “Best†is very subjective.

If you are really interested in Pachmeyer there is a whole book about him. Good reading.

Mr. Petrov

Maybe you would post here a list of all of the makers you cover in your book???

Also got mine and just wanted to say that it is the best $30.00 I have ever spent on the subject of early custom rifles. I highly recomend it for anyone who has interest in these early gunmakers.

Many thanks for writing such a book Michael.

Got mine! Really great research. Much of this information would have been forgotten before long had Michael not published this book. Anyone with an interest in fine custom guns should buy this book.

I've only skimmed over the chapter on Alvin Linden so far (since he was from Sweden Smiler ) but will dive into it seriously tonight.

Thanks!
