Hi Tom,
Good to see new folks on AR. We are running Cliff LaBounty's reboring equipment (for a little over one year now) and there are a couple cautions with that job. Cliff was always concerned with the lighter cuts like that. We would run a .3205 counterbore for the first pass and that does not give a good chip-load on the reamer as it cuts across the existing lands. This will sometimes create a roping or chatter in the finish that will not clean up with the finish ream. We have had good luck so far by backing the feedrate way down, but we're warned it is still a possibility. Another thing to check is the dimension of the base of the chamber. My prints show the 8x60 as being .001 larger than the base of the 06. If the original chamber specs ok then there should be no problem there. If the ream goes well the rebore costs $185. If you do not have someone to do chamber work and we also perform that portion of the job, including crown touch-up, the total cost is $340. The crown requires freshening because we lap two different times during the rebore process. Good luck on this and any future projects!

Jim
